Documents are stored in AWS Sydney. That matters more here than almost anywhere: under APP 8 and s16C of the Privacy Act, an Australian business that discloses personal information overseas is treated as responsible for what happens to it. Keeping the documents onshore removes that question from the conversation. The one exception is AI reading you switch on yourself: when you use Document intelligence or the free contract check, that document’s text is sent to Mistral AI in France to be read — the details are in our Privacy notice. Pricing is per document, not per seat — one allowance for the whole team.

A few things sit outside it — wills and codicils, powers of attorney, statutory declarations, certain court and migration documents, and anything a statute says must be witnessed or registered. Requirements differ by State, and remote witnessing rules have changed more than once since 2020, so check the position in yours.

The legal weight of an electronic signature depends on the document and how it's used. This is general information, not legal advice — check with your lawyer for your specific case.
Most businesses know where their contracts are. Almost none know what is in them.
Renewal dates, notice windows, restraint periods, payment terms — pulled out with the clause each one comes from. The 30 days you have to give notice before a contract renews itself for another year is in there somewhere. It is not in anybody’s calendar. Inside EasySign, it can be: confirm the date once and we email you before it arrives.
No address for service for notices. No governing law or jurisdiction clause. Nothing saying how a company executes it, so nobody can tell whether s127 of the Corporations Act was relied on. Absence is what people miss when they skim, and a tool trained on American contracts will never think to look for it.
A term used in the survival clause but never defined. Two clauses numbered 16. A signature block nobody filled in. We ran it over our own signed agreements before offering it to anyone, and it found four of these in our own template.
It reports what the document says, and what it does not say. It will not tell you whether a clause is fair or whether to sign — that is a judgement for you and your lawyer. It is there so you know what to ask one. Check one contract free →

“What is the notice period?” comes back with the sentence it came from and the page it is on. Click the page and the document jumps there, with the line lit up where the PDF has real text in it. An answer we cannot point at in the document is not shown to you as an answer.
“No, and I read all twelve pages.” Absence is the thing people miss when they skim, and it is what most tools get wrong — they find the nearest paragraph and dress it up as an answer. If the closest thing in the document is a different clause, it says so and names it.
A signed agreement has usually been printed, signed and scanned — which is the moment most software stops being able to read it. Scanned pages are converted to text the first time somebody asks about that document, once, and every question after that is instant. On a scan it takes you to the page rather than the line, and it says so.
It is not only for contracts. A lease, a purchase order, a delivery note, an insurance schedule — if it is a PDF in your account, you can ask it. When a document is not an agreement it says what it appears to be instead of hunting for clauses that were never going to be there. And it reads that document and nothing else: no general knowledge, no market opinion, no view on whether you should sign. That is a judgement for you and your lawyer — this is here so you know what to ask one.
